With a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation in the making and rising, the new energy vehicle industry is entering a new stage of accelerated development, which not only adds strong new drivers to the economic growth of various countries, but also helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, cope with climate change and improve global ecological environment. To promote global NEV development, the first World New Energy Vehicle Congress (WNEVC) was successfully held in July 2019 in Boao, Hainan. More than 1,500 entrepreneurs, experts, scholars and government representatives across the world attended the congress.

2020 is a critical year for the transformation and upgrading of global automotive industry. China is working on the study and compilation of the New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2021-2035), a 15-year plan to clarify the country's development pathway for the industry. To accelerate NEV technological innovation and related industry development, the Second World New Energy Vehicle Congress (WNEVC 2020) will take place in Hainan from June 29 to July 1. The three-day event will focus on the sustainable and healthy development of NEVs, and it will include broad technical and idea exchanges on a variety of topics such as cross-sector and integrated development of electrification, smart and shared mobility with NEV technological advances and innovations.
